Can you imagine what joy is in waking up in the morning in a soft and clean smelling bed? And to just stay laying in it in peace. No need to go anywhere, nor pack up a tent, or filter water, or ponder miles.
I couldn’t remain floating in a completely blissful and idle state though. After eating breakfast I entrenched myself in Salisbury’s beautiful library to finish the application for extension for my Visa, and update videos and photos to the blog.
Once I got the application paperwork done I went to the post office to send them to the USCIS office in Texas. I told the postal clerk that I had never done a money order before, which I would need for the application fee. The gentleman guided me and helped kindly, and agreed that the system was a bit stone aged.
I had gotten a confirmation from Therm-a-Rest that the issue with my air mattress was covered by the guarantee. I sent them the information based on their instructions, and the customer service representative promised to mail me a new mattress about a week ahead on the AT. I would then be in Cheshire, so I asked for it to be sent there.
In the evening I went once more to LaBonne to get my food. I pondered ordering a pizza, but decided to get a wheatberry and tuna salad from the store instead, as well as some naan and a box of strawberries. My previous eating mania has settled somewhat, and now on town days I want more fresh foods than just plain calories.

Aivan autuaaseen joutilaisuuteen en saanut kuitenkaan jäädä kellumaan. Aamupalan syötyäni linnoittauduin Salisburyn kauniiseen kirjastoon viimeistelemään maassaolon jatkoaikahakemusta ja päivittämään videoita sekä valokuvia blogiin.
Saatuani hakemuspaperit kuntoon kävin postissa lähettämässä ne USCIS:n toimistoon Texasiin. Kerroin postivirkailijalle, että en ole ikinä tehnyt money orderia, jonka tarvitsisin hakemusmaksua varten. Mies neuvoi ja auttoi minua hyvin ystävällisesti sekä oli samaa mieltä, että systeemi on hieman kivikautinen.
Olin saanut Therm-a-Restiltä vahvistuksen, että ilmapatjani vika kuuluu takuun piiriin. Lähetin heille saamieni ohjeiden mukaiset tiedot ja asiakaspalvelija lupasi postittaa minulle uuden patjan noin viikon päähän AT:lle. Olisin silloin Cheshiressa, joten pyysin laittamaan paketin sinne.
Illalla kävin vielä LaBonnessa ostamassa ruokatäydennykset. Pohdiskelin pizzan tilaamista, mutta päädyin kuitenkin ottamaan kaupasta wheatberry- ja tonnikalapastasalaattia, naan-leipää sekä laatikollisen mansikoita. Aiempi syömisvimma on hieman rauhoittunut ja nyt kaupunkipäivinä haluan useammin tuoreita asioita kuin kalorimättöä.
