If yesterday was my longest day to date, today was probably the shortest. In the morning I hiked from Partnership Shelter to the Mount Rogers Visitors Center next to it so that I could get a ride to Marion. Of course it’s up to interpretation whether today is a zero or a nero (near zero), but I’m not taking a full rest day, because I wasn’t already in the city.
In Marion I settled in at the Econo Lodge, where the friendly receptionist offered early check-in and breakfast, because it was still set out. I had slept poorly the previous night, so the day went at a slow tempo while taking care of things. I did get my clothes washed, my hair cut, and my food stores replenished. I would have been done and ready for bed at six, but I decided to catch up with updating the blog with pictures and video.

Jos eilinen päivä oli tähän mennessä pisin, niin tämä oli varmasti kaikkein lyhyin. Vaelsin aamulla Partnership Shelteriltä vieressä olevalle Mount Rogers Visitor Centerille saadakseni kyydin Marioniin. On toki tulkinnanvaraista onko tämä päivä nyt sitten zero vai nero (near zero – lähes nolla), mutta en itse pidä päivää täysin lepopäivänä, koska en ollut valmiiksi kaupungissa.
Marionissa asetuin Econo Lodgeen, jonka ystävällinen respan nainen tarjosi sekä aikaisen check-inin että myös aamupalaa, koska aamiainen oli vielä esillä. Olin nukkunut edellisenä yönä huonosti, joten päivä kului hitaaseen tempoon asioita hoitaen. Sain kuitenkin vaatteeni pestyä, hiukset leikkautettua ja ruokavarastot täytettyä. Olisin ollut kypsä sänkyyn jo kuuden aikoihin, mutta päätin kuitenkin hieman edistää blogin kuvien ja videoiden päivittämistä.
